How to Use the PRL Custom System Configurator
Select a chassis kit module from the drop-down selector.
Populate the available slots with filler plates or modules from the drop-down selectors for each slot.
Note that some slots in the MRK-1-2 are limited to filler plates, due to space constraints from the power supply components.
Each placed component can be rotated or flipped to your desired orientation, e.g. to keep the DC power input jack on the inside of the chassis or to minimize the amount of cabling required.
If DC power is required on the outside of the chassis, use either the 39500002-158-4P4C filler plate or the PRL-730 module.
Save any configuration / bill of materials (BOM) as an .mrk file (contents are plain JSON), or load an .mrk file to populate your chassis.
Click Generate STEP Assembly to create a parametric STEP file of your configuration, along with a time-stamped BOM.
STEP file generation requires an online account at pulseresearchlab.com.
Real-time viewer, BOM creation, load, and save do not require registration.
The real-time viewer is based on tessellated GLB files, and does not include all features, such as bracket mounting hardware and endplate screw offsets.
Bracket mounting hardware and endplate screw offsets are included in the downloadable STEP file.
GLB files include a rendering of the product decals, but the downloadable STEP files do not, as the STEP file format does not support embedded graphics, and engraved graphics are too computationally expensive.
Mid slots may have multiple possible mounting points; at present only the front-most position is supported.
Mid slots do not yet support form factors with 2.1″, 5.0″, or 6.0″ extrusion lengths.
PRL-MRK-1-2, 1U Rackmount Kit, is in production and shipping daily.
STEP model is complete except for a minor offset error between the rear panel and side panels (Z: 1.27 mm) that will be fixed shortly, but that does not materially affect the bounding box or mechanical interfaces.
The current DRAFT model of the MRK-2-1, 2U Rackmount Kit, is pre-release, incomplete, and should be used as a conceptual model only.
Slot counts, slot placements, hole counts, hole placements, inner dimensions, outer dimensions, and rack mounting interfaces will change before the PRL-MRK-2-1 is released, so users should not rely on any of the above when using an assembly model based on the PRL-MRK-2-1 DRAFT model.
PRL-MRK-3-1, 3U Rackmount Kit, not yet supported.
Coming Soon:
Support for PRL-MRK-3-1, 3U Rackmount Kit (currently in production and shipping, but not yet modeled).
